Hope Scholarship Campaign, Rhode Island

Dear Friend of Rhode Island College,

Legislation has been proposed to create a Hope Scholarship for students at Rhode Island College, providing two years of tuition-free education for students who begin their college careers at RIC and stay on track in their first two years. It is similar to the Promise legislation that benefits CCRI students.

The bills we support are H 7636 (Representative Gregg Amore) and S 2290 (Senator Ryan Pearson). We testified in support of both bills when they were heard earlier this session.

The 2022 session of the General Assembly is expected to finish in the next few weeks. We need your help to highlight the importance of the Hope Scholarship while decisions on legislation are being made.

We have made it easy to send a message of support for these bills to your state Representative and Senator. Simply click on “ Start Writing” on this page and enter your name and address. You will then be presented with a sample letter that you can edit and send. The entire process just takes a minute.

Please take a moment to support Rhode Island College and its students.
